Happy Loy Kratong!

Yesterday, we celebrated the Thai holiday of which gives respect to the water. All the students looked so lovely in their Thai traditional costumes. We got to see a Thai dance performance, a comical Muay Thai match, a traditional game called “snake”, and then students got to take their kratongs and float them in the pool. All students were told to place their kratong in the water and make a wish. We hope many wishes come true! Happy Loy Kratong!!

After an exciting morning of scavenger hunting, football and Cricket students sat down to a hearty lunch including pot roast, pudding, and English tea!

Happy Diwali!

On Wednesday, October 22nd, we had another cultural day. This month we are celebrated a very popular Indian festival. The Festivals name is Diwali and it is known as the festival of lights. On this day, many people make candles and light them at night. The tradition is that if you have a lot of color around your home and light many candles you will be very lucky and rich the next year! It is a very exciting and colorful holiday for all members of the family and we did some exciting activities! Much like celebrating Diwali in India, our students got to make candles and create beautiful Rangolis! The Rabbits celebrated by visiting TK park and doing a Diwali activity there!  We asked that students came dressed in either Indian Style clothes or their most colorful outfit! If they were the most festive in their outfit, the students took home a Diwali gift.

I want to be a Chocolatier!

Last Thursday , We had Chocolate Day and the students got to become chocolatiers. Students had chocolate milk during their snack time and made some chocolate in their classes. While they were becoming chocolatiers they learned about where chocolate comes from, how the  melting process works, and how we responsibly eat chocolate.

Safety Awareness at School!

Bangkok sent their best to come and teach us about how to stay safe, who to call, and what to do in an emergency. We learned so many things like the number to call when people get hurt, how to do CPR, how and why stretchers are used, and all about an ambulance. The students learned so much and can now recognize when a person may need help and what might happen when help comes!

안녕하세요!

안녕하세요!

Today we learned about South Korea and some things they  eat and wear.  Kangaroos and Giraffes made a common food that is sold on the streets named 김밥 (Gimbap). The Bluebirds and Rabbits made masks to represent the traditional Andong Mask Festival that takes place this month.  Each student listened and danced to K-Pop while making Gimpap and Masks. The teachers and the students had so much fun! Today all the students also learned that hello is 안녕하세요 (an-yang-ha-say-yo) and thank you is 감사합니다  (kam-sam-ni-da). Please feel free to talk about Korea and the new words they learned today.
